How to Reach
Astore town is reached by a paved side road leaving the Karakoram Highway near Jaglot, about 3 hours from Gilgit and roughly 10-12 hours from Islamabad. The valley road follows the Astore River through a dramatic gorge.
From Astore town, a jeep track climbs about an hour to Rama Meadows; Rama Lake is a further short jeep ride plus a 30-to-45-minute walk. For Deosai, the Chilim road branches east from the main valley toward Sheosar Lake.
